Slack Huddles

Present slides in a Slack huddle with Cliqer, share the running deck from your computer and advance it from your phone.

Slack huddles are where quick design reviews, sprint demos and team show-and-tells happen. They are informal and fast, and usually presented one-handed while scrolling the deck with the other. Cliqer tidies that up: your computer shares the running presentation into the huddle, and your phone flicks through the slides while the thread and the faces stay on screen.

Cliqer is not a Slack app. Nothing is installed in your workspace and there is nothing for admins to approve.

Share the Application, Not the Desktop: Huddle screen shares are usually watched in a small window. Sharing the presentation window on its own keeps the slides readable and keeps your notifications out of the demo.

Setup and Usage

  1. Start Cliqer on your computer and open the presenter link on your phone.
  2. Open your presentation and start the slideshow.
  3. In the Slack channel or direct message, click the headphones icon to start the huddle.
  4. Click the share screen icon in the huddle controls, then choose a screen, window or application.
  5. Optionally click Share system audio if your deck plays sound, then click Share.
  6. Advance the slides from the presenter link. Anyone in the huddle can click the shared screen to expand it.
  7. Stop the share from the huddle controls when the demo is over.
Where Huddle Sharing Works: Screen sharing in huddles is supported in the Slack desktop and mobile apps, and in Google Chrome and Firefox. If you run Slack in another browser, use the desktop app for the share. Up to two people can share at a time.
