Settings
Settings has seven panes on macOS and Windows: General, Presenters, Video, Audio, Show, Control and Advanced. Most panes split into tabs, and the tabs are the same on both systems. Changes apply at once. There is no OK button.
| Pane | Tabs |
|---|---|
| General | App, Updates, Account |
| Presenters | Room, Sharing |
| Video | Program, Virtual camera |
| Audio | Devices, Routing, Virtual microphone |
| Show | Timer, Timecode, Pixel maps, Ableton Link |
| Control | Control |
| Advanced | Troubleshoot, Redundancy |
The sections below follow the panes and tabs. Each table lists the settings in the order the tab shows them, and the Where column says which system has the row.
Open Cliqer > Settings... (Command-comma), or the Settings (cog) button in the Classic Panel. The panes are in the toolbar and a pane with more than one tab shows its tabs as a row above the settings. The window remembers the last pane and the last tab of each pane.
Open Settings from the Settings (cog) button in the Classic layout, from Settings at the bottom of the navigation list in the Windows layout, or from Studio settings... in Studio. In the Windows layout Settings is a page inside the main window (the last item in the navigation list) with the seven panes in a left pane, and every request for Settings, from a menu, Studio or a notice, opens that page. In the Classic layout it is a separate window titled Cliqer settings, with the seven panes in a left pane. A pane with more than one tab shows its tabs along the top of the page. Each pane opens on the tab you used last. The settings sit on glass.
Find a setting
Type in the Search box (macOS: in the Settings toolbar. Windows: at the top of the left pane). It matches setting names and related words, in English or Spanish. Each result shows the setting and where it lives, for example "General > App". Choose a result and Settings opens that pane and tab, scrolls the row into view and lights it for a moment. With no match it says "No results".
Search ignores accents and shows only the settings of the app you are in. Names that start with your words come first, then names with a word that starts with them, then related words and tab names, then close matches.
Every setting shows a short line under its name that says what it does.
Where the two systems use different words, both are given: "macOS: X. Windows: Y".
General

App

| Setting | What it does | Where |
|---|---|---|
| App theme | Light or dark look of every Cliqer window. | macOS, Windows |
| Glass | System, Clear, Frosted or Off: the material behind every window. Windows says: "System and Frosted are Acrylic, Clear is Mica, Off is a solid colour." On macOS, with Reduce Transparency or Increase Contrast on in Accessibility, the windows are solid and the row says "Solid now: Reduce Transparency or Increase Contrast is on in Accessibility." | macOS, Windows |
| Language | Choose the language of the app's words. System follows your computer. | macOS, Windows |
| Main window | The layout of the main window. Windows says: "Classic is the familiar Cliqer panel; Windows puts navigation on the left." | macOS, Windows |
| Window design | Fluent, Glass or Console. Under a contrast theme the pane says "A contrast theme is on: Windows' contrast colours replace the glass until it is off." | Windows |
| System usage in the status bar | The Studio status bar shows the whole computer's CPU, RAM and GPU instead of Cliqer's. | Windows |
| Always on top | Keeps the Cliqer window above other windows. Off by default. | macOS, Windows |

| Start with Windows | Opens Cliqer when you sign in to Windows. | Windows |
| Notifications | Lets Cliqer show system notifications. | macOS, Windows |
The rows sit in groups. Window holds Always on top, Keep above slideshows and Hide Cliqer from screen sharing, and on Windows also Main window. Startup holds Launch at login or Start with Windows, and Notifications. On macOS, Appearance holds App theme, Glass, Language and Main window.
On macOS the tint over the glass comes from your team's branding on cliqer.io: under Desktop background you set a colour and an opacity for the dark theme and for the light theme.
On Windows, Window design changes the look of every window:
