Install Cliqer on Mac

Step 1

Download and run cliqer.dmg

When prompted, drag and drop cliqer icon to applications folder.

Step 2

Run cliqer from your Applications folder.

When prompted for security confirmation, click Open.

Tip: One of the security features in macOS is a prompt which appears when opening a program for the first time: This is an application downloaded from the Internet. Are you sure you want to open it?  If you wish to completely disable this feature for any application, read this.


Releases after v1.1.6 will be notarized on Apple’s servers before releasing and as so you may not see the below error message.

Step 3

Ensure that cliqer has proper system permissions to access your presentation software.

  • Click the Apple logo at the very top-left of your screen -> System Preferences.
  • On System Preferences window, click Security & Privacy.
  • Under Security & Privacy, select Privacy
  • Click the lock icon and enter your admin password when prompted
  • Under Accessibility -> Activate cliqer
  • Under Automation -> Activate cliqer
 

Troubleshooting:
If cliqer works with Powerpoint but not with focused mode make sure that “System events” is available and checked under “Automation”.  If it is not you can try to reset cliqer:

  1. Open terminal and type: tccutil reset All io.cliqer.app
  2. Quit and delete Cliqer from Applications folder
  3. Open the downloaded .dmg and copy to applications folder.
  4. Run Cliqer in Focused mode, connect remotely with your phone and press a button.
  5. Accept/Enable requested options within Accessibility/Automation

Step 4

(optional) Restart cliqer AND your presentation software

If your presentation slideshow is not responding to cliqer after following the instructions, do the following:
  • Open cliqer app and click CMD+Q or CTRL+Click or Right Click on the icon at the bottom bar, and Quit the app.
  • Quit your presentation software using the same method.
  • Run cliqer and your presentation software (doesn’t matter which one runs first).
PRO TIP: If this method didn’t work either, try creating a new presentation project. Sometimes, users on PowerPoint and Keynote experience issues with clickers. If you experience any issues, feel free to live chat with us.

How to use Cliqer on Mac

Step 1
Start trial or enter License key after purchase
If you are a cliqer customer, you can obtain your License Key under /my-account/ area – and at the order confirmation e-mail.

Step 2

Make sure the “Allow presenter to control left/right” toggle is ON.

Share the link with your presenter(s).

Tip: Ask the presenter to test the buttons. You should be able to see cliqer’s buttons turning red. This verifies a successful connection.

Step 3

Leave Cliqer running on the background, you can safely minimize the app.

Step 4

Start your presentation slideshow.

The presenter should be able to control the slideshow on their smartphone/desktop/ipad and any device… from anywhere in the world!
